Peachy keen

The peach is a very popular tattoo all around the world.

Not only do they look sweet they also carry a significant meaning.

In Japanese culture, a peach symbolises immortality and long healthy life.

You also often see peaches combined with objects and other life forms, for example, a fish.

Peaches have a huge amount of health benefits too and did we mention they taste delicious?

Hold the nipple covers!

The pin-up girl has been a hugely popular subject matter in American Traditional tattooing since its conception.

Sailors would get an image of a pin-up girl before, or during, their time serving off-shore in the navy. This was because the sailors did not get to see their wife or a woman for, sometimes, years on end.

Here are some recent pin-up girls from our tattooist, Milky.

Gordanza has entered the building!

The whole crew at @sunset_tattoo_nz is stoked to warmly welcome our new apprentice @gordanza to the tat game!

Here he is completing a sunset tradition of being made to clean the front of the shop on the middle of winter.

Gordy isn’t tattooing yet- he’s busy studying and preparing and learning the ropes, but you can follow his progress on his Instagram @gordanza and keep an eye out for when he starts doing apprentice tats.

Gordy has shown massive commitment and an unstoppable work ethic and respect towards his new craft so far and we are extremely proud to have him with us!
