Gordanza has entered the building!

The whole crew at @sunset_tattoo_nz is stoked to warmly welcome our new apprentice @gordanza to the tat game!

Here he is completing a sunset tradition of being made to clean the front of the shop on the middle of winter.

Gordy isn’t tattooing yet- he’s busy studying and preparing and learning the ropes, but you can follow his progress on his Instagram @gordanza and keep an eye out for when he starts doing apprentice tats.

Gordy has shown massive commitment and an unstoppable work ethic and respect towards his new craft so far and we are extremely proud to have him with us!

The Fine Line Tattoo Queen has landed

We are very excited to announce that Elliott, known as @Elliott.tattoo on Instagram, has joined our star line-up of artists here at Sunset Tattoo.

Elliotts fine line tattoos have become extremely popular resulting in a fully booked calendar months in advance.

Fine line tattoos require amazing precision and skill. Elliotts butterflies are super sweet but with a side of bad ass. Fine-line/single needle, flames, cherries, roses, barbed wire, chains… Elliott can do it all!

The Colourful Koi

Koi is the informal name for nishikigoi, which are colourful Amur carp. They live between 25 – 35 years and represent strength, prosperity, determination, independence, perseverance, and good luck. Japanese people respect and admire the Koi fish and they are a common symbol in tattooing.
